Here's a nice story that taken from our Guitarist's WP account named 'Mengisi Liburan'. This writings begin with some process in his mind to create this decayed creation. Yes off course it's an subjective story, and i tried to translate it into this so called 'Universal Languages' so 9maybe) you all can understand the stories. Pardon for the bad English. "In the year of 2011, I had the opportunity to have a chat with Wednes Mandra (Asangata / Cultivation / Wednesday) to make a Punk band and it kicks his intentions. And there's a name listed in my chat with Wednes, that is Hilman Fathoni. We want to make a formation like this: Hilman as the Vocalist, Wednes as the guitarist, and me as the Bassist. At that time, Dead Kennedys was Wednes Mandra's favourite, and i fond NOFX. Oh i also had a couple chat with Hilman in his last.fm shoutbox.
The plan is simply being a discourse because we or I personally had suffered excruciating rush in the 1st half beginning of the term. Then one day in 2012, Hilman Fathoni suddenly asked me to make Punk band with influences of Black Flag and Flipper. Previously I and Hilman have several times met only to exchanged some mp3s HA HA HA. That meeting gave me a lot of Hilman's mp3 which smelled so Stoner Rock and some Death Rock mp3. Instead I give him some mp3 of Post Hardcore / Emo / Revolution Summer / that I liked and some Indie Rock band.
Then we have a little discussions to find 2 more people who will be part of the YK DECAY itself. I invite Lawung Panji Sadewa (Local Youth) and Hilman invites Pawitra Warda (Asangata / Kultivasi / Loath). Eventually we formed a band that has been named YK DECAY despite we never do any rehearsals though. The name YK DECAY is made by Hilman. Its taken from a band called UK DECAY .
May 5, 2012 supposedly said our Sangkar Burung friends will make an event to commemorate Labor Day.
Our first rehearsal (I forgot when is it was) we immediately make 2 or 3 songs which is pretty short. One of the songs that successfully made in our first rehearsal is "Yogyakarta Decay (To Hell With The UK)" which in our 1st and 2nd show, this song always being an opener. Lyrics by Hilman and the music (?) arrangements made together. I think we had 2 or 3 times in rehearsal before the1st show. And we invited Wednes Mandra in our last rehearsal (before the 1st show) to record 9 songs which one is the cover version from Dirt. Using his magic mic that now has lost it powers. After we recorded our demo, we simply mix it with Adobe Audition in Wednes's house. Voila, here's the result.
... And we also do not know we're a punk band or not.
